Baby loves smallgantics

Mark Everett miniaturizes London out of spite in the new Eels video: "It's my way of saying 'thanks for making me feel bad by accusing me of being a terrorist in Hyde Park this June. I'll show you. I'll make your city look like a toy.'"

Thom Yorke's "Harrowdown Hill" video is credited as the first to use this technique. You can check out more about miniature faking here, and see some example shots from Harrowdown Hill director Jim Clark here.

Bill Murray at Odds with Technology

Speaking of high-tech stuff nobody wants, might digitally-animated comics voiced by actors who should know better be included?

The (Anti?) Breakfast Song

Two things:

1. These folks have a very expansive definition of breakfast.

2. If there's no bacon in Heaven, then i don't wanna go.

Barry Hannah

Given that it has now been at least 6 months since author Barry Hannah passed away, it is time to consider how publishers can cash in on his work.

Since no one else appears to have suggested it yet, I offer the following suggestion: the world is ready for comic book adaptations of short stories such as "Get Some Young," and who better to undertake this effort than Hannah Berry? Berry is probably in need of a new project after Britten and Brülightly anyway.

As always, financial expressions of gratitude can be sent to the Pieces of Flair team.

I think there must be some kind of club...

During the social media Q&A for his film My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?, director Werner Herzog fielded a question from fellow director David Lynch. Lynch asked Herzog via Twitter to tell the story about the time he saved the life of actor Joaquin Phoenix near the director’s home. First Look Studios, who hosted the event, was later approached by animator Sascha Ciezata about producing an animated short using audio from the interview.

Bed Intruder!

I can't believe that not one of your humble POFers has yet to weigh in on the Antoine Dodson phenomenon. I'm especially to blame since I live in the same state. First watch the original, then the auto-tuned version (extended epic version) and then the punk version:

While attempted rape isn't funny, Antoine Dodson sure is. Someone give that man a show!

I miss '70's Sesame Street

I don't know why this has been stuck in my mind for the past few weeks. There are just some things you can't un-remember, I guess. Does this still haunt you from your childhood? It's certainly stuck in the dark places of my mind. So conventional, if you don't LISTEN to it. The music and vocals approach the avant garde. It's like if you showed a video of me stirring uncomfortably on the sofa, then cutting back and forth between shots of me and shots of bread being baked and sliced, a pig getting butchered, and mayonnaise getting processed, while the music track was some chick screaming "SANDWICH!!!" over and over again. Seems like something Victor Lams could compose.
