With many thanks to the AV Club's "Great Job, Internet", I am pleased to share the Bayifier.

But when looking for an image to 'splodify, I was torn. It could be a look at the quiet street in New York City's West Village where I work, a photo of my precious kitty, or even a mutha-fuckerization of my own portrait. But on the wall of my office hung the answer.

Chagall's work frequently featured the sleepy Slavic city-scape of Vitsyebsk, Belarus, his birthplace and where I had the pleasure of living for eight months while I finished my grad work. But Belarus is a tragic country, where the people have endured centuries of war, dictatorship, and cultural oppression. Only a visionary like Michael Bay could tell us another, more empowering story. With the Bayifier, Belarus is a land the Bolsheviks would fear to tread upon and Hitler would bypass on his way to Moscow.

A few years back, being a diehard Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan, I had the pleasure of seeing the acting talents of Jon Mikl Thor in Zombie Nightmare.

I remember that one of the strongest impressions that movie made on me was that the Cure poster in one character's room was also in the room of my good friend from high school, Mark. It wasn't until years later that the same friend, in an unrelated sequence of events, reminded me of Thor's greatness with this epic fight scene from Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare.

Thor occupied a place in my subconscious from then on. Mark then recently shared on Facebook crucial documentation establishing that Mr. Thor's middle name is not, in fact, Mikl:

Apart from his Heavy Metal magnificence and movie acting prowess, it wasn't until this past week that the full scope of his talent became apparent. As you can learn from his Wikipedia article, Jon Mikl was also the first Canadian to win Mr. Canada and Mr. USA bodybuilding titles. But I owe my greatest debt of gratitude to the AV Club for unearthing footage of Thor that really completes the picture: Thor as Vegas-style showman for Merv Griffin.

Yes, truly, Thor accepts the challenge.

Given that it has now been at least 6 months since author Barry Hannah passed away, it is time to consider how publishers can cash in on his work.

Since no one else appears to have suggested it yet, I offer the following suggestion: the world is ready for comic book adaptations of short stories such as "Get Some Young," and who better to undertake this effort than Hannah Berry? Berry is probably in need of a new project after Britten and Brülightly anyway.

I don't know why this has been stuck in my mind for the past few weeks. There are just some things you can't un-remember, I guess. Does this still haunt you from your childhood? It's certainly stuck in the dark places of my mind. So conventional, if you don't LISTEN to it. The music and vocals approach the avant garde. It's like if you showed a video of me stirring uncomfortably on the sofa, then cutting back and forth between shots of me and shots of bread being baked and sliced, a pig getting butchered, and mayonnaise getting processed, while the music track was some chick screaming "SANDWICH!!!" over and over again. Seems like something Victor Lams could compose.

I would give up quite a lot to work at BrewDog. BrewDog has actually been warring with the German brewery Schorschbrau to come up with the world's strongest beer. Unless Schorschbrau can come up with a way to make a stronger beer, this may indeed be the end of the road for ridiculously strong beers. The Germans may love David Hasselhoff, but they're also pretty crafty, so don't count them out yet.

Yes, each bottle of the End of History actually does come encased in a taxidermied varmint, so there's that. But since it costs $765 a bottle, I doubt that stoats will end up on the endangered species list. Plus, the run is limited to 12 bottles and all the critters were roadkill.

For the political philosophers out there hoping for a Fukuyama tidbit other than the reference in the video, your humble blogger is a distant cousin by marriage. Seriously. On my Dad's side.

I thought I would share this gem from a yelp review of a hotel near my home:

I am a traveling ESCORTcompanion i travel to many cities around the US for business and needed a nice hotel at a reasonable price to stay at and found the burnsley hotel on a hotel website and liked the pictures plus the fact that it was an older boutique style hotel with a great rate of $150 a night and reviews and thought why not get a room for a week.Every thing was fine until i set up an appointment with a client and he was stopped on his way up to the room and asked what room he was going to,for his id and to sign in.I can appreciate the fact the hotel has security I am glad the hotel has security for the safety of it's hotel guests but as long as nobody is making any trouble for the hotel WHY stop a visitor to the hotel on his way to visit a hotel guest? As you see the burnsley has different kinds of people staying at it's hotel.I have stayed at many nice hotels and never experienced this kind of problem as i needed a nice relaxing place to host a discreet location for my clients(They come to me) and being stopped by the front desk staff really made my clients feel uncomfortable as they are business men looking for a nice "Discreet Encounter" not looking to be stopped walking through a hotel lobby as this really made my business trip to denver a total mess and inconvenience.Escorts i do not recommend this as a hotel choice for those of you needing a nice place to entertain your clients while visiting from outta town Stick to the more disreet hotels such as the hilton,embassy suits and hyatt ect i have stayed at those hotels many times and never once had any kind of problem as the one my client and my self experienced at the burnsley.I will say i actually liked the hotel better than the top chain hotels as far as it's boutique style i found it to be a cute cozy little hotel.The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.They also have an excellen restaurant with great food and a lounge that plays live jazz music on different nights of the week.I am a fan of jazz.This hotel would have been a #1 choice for me everytime i visit denver but not now.i also would of gave a 5star if not for all that...What more can i say it's a lovely hotel.
